PVC Hose

Looking for reliable, cost-effective fluid transfer solutions? At Integraflex, we offer a comprehensive range of PVC hoses and PVC tubing, built for performance across a wide variety of applications. Whether you need a lightweight air hose, a chemical-resistant option, or food-grade tubing, our selection of PVC hoses is trusted across industries for its strength, versatility, and value.

PVC or thermoplastic hoses are widely used due to their lighter weight, greater flexibility and competitive costs. We have introduced the Gemini Super Flexible PVC Waste Tanker Hose, specially designed to be light, flexible and easy to move in and out of hose trays on the tanker body.

PVC Hose

What is a PVC Hose?

Made of polyvinyl chloride (PVC), a synthetic plastic polymer, there are two main types of PVC hose that we offer at Integraflex - smooth cover PVC and spiral PVC hoses. Both hose types are suitable for different applications:

Smooth Cover PVC Hoses

A smooth cover PVC hose has a smooth, untextured exterior and interior – designed foreasy handling. The smooth cover makes the PVC hoses flexible and ensures consistent fluid flow, to help prevents blockages, making them ideal for food handling and general water delivery applications.

Spiral PVC Hoses

Spiral PVC hoses are arguably less flexible than smooth cover PVC hoses due to the corrugated cover, however they are both strong and durable and more resistant to kinks. Corrugated PVC hoses are most suitable to transfer compressed air, water and chemicals (dependent on specific hose compatibility).

Compared to other hose materials such as rubber or silicone, PVC hoses offer a great balance between performance and price. They are easy to handle, resistant to weather and abrasion, and available in a wide range of sizes, colours, and reinforcement types.

Types of PVC Hose

Flexible PVC hoses are some of the most widely used in both commercial and industrial settings. Here are some of the key reasons why:

  • Lightweight & Easy to Handle: Reduces strain in portable or manual operations
  • Highly Flexible: Maintains bendability even in tight or confined areas
  • Resistant to Chemicals & Abrasion: Great for industrial and chemical use
  • Cost-Effective: Lower cost compared to many rubber alternatives
  • Versatile: Suitable for air, water, food-grade, and light chemical transfer
  • Available in Transparent Options: Ideal for visual flow monitoring

At Integraflex, our range includes everything from general-purpose tubing to heavy-duty reinforced PVC hoses, giving you peace of mind whatever your setup.

PVC hoses also have some limitations, mainly when it comes to temperature sensitivity. PVC hoses have a maximum temperature of +60C, compared to silicone hoses, which can withstand temperatures up to 250-300C, dependant on the hose.

Types of PVC Hose Available

We stock a wide variety of PVC tubing and plastic hoses to suit different environments, pressures, and applications. Here are the main types you'll find in our collection:

  • General Purpose PVC Hose: Used for light-duty air and water transfer in domestic, commercial, and DIY settings. These hoses are typically lightweight, flexible, and easy to cut to length.
  • Reinforced PVC Hose

Features a braided or spiral polyester reinforcement, providing added strength for higher pressure use. Commonly used in workshops, air lines, and industrial systems.

  • Suction & Delivery PVC Hose: Constructed with reinforced walls to handle both suction and pressure delivery. Ideal for pump connections, drainage, and fluid transfer systems
  • Layflat PVC Hose: This flat-form hose is excellent for temporary water transfer, irrigation, and flood response. It rolls flat for easy storage and transport.
  • Food-Grade PVC Tubing: Certified for use with potable water and food substances, this clear tubing is ideal for beverage manufacturing, catering, and lab work.

Industries that use PVC Hose

PVC hoses are used across countless industries due to their versatility. Some of the most common applications include:

  • Agriculture & Irrigation

Farmers and landscapers use PVC hose systems for watering crops, fertiliser application, and greenhouse maintenance. Layflat hoses are particularly popular for mobile irrigation.

  • Workshops & Industrial Facilities

Reinforced PVC tubing is widely used for pneumatic tools, coolant delivery, and compressed air lines in factories and garages.

  • Food & Beverage Industry

Food-grade PVC hoses are essential for transferring water, syrups, beer, juice, and other edible liquids in breweries, dairies, and production lines.

  • Construction & Site Management

PVC suction and delivery hoses are commonly deployed on construction sites to manage standing water, transfer light chemicals, or connect to mobile water pumps.

  • Chemical Handling

Certain grades of plastic hose are built to withstand exposure to cleaning agents, solvents, and light acids, often used in cleaning, maintenance, or lab environments.

How to Choose the Right PVC Hose

When selecting the ideal PVC hose or PVC tubing, consider the following key factors:

1. Intended Use

Match the hose to the substance being transferred, water, air, food, or chemicals, and ensure compatibility with your setup.

2. Pressure Rating

Make sure the hose can handle the system’s pressure demands. Reinforced hoses are better suited for medium-pressure and industrial use.

3. Temperature Range

Most PVC hoses work well between -10°C and +60°C, but for colder climates or hot fluids, you may need a specialised grade.

4. Internal Diameter

Choose a diameter that suits your fittings and flow rate. Smaller diameters offer better control, while larger hoses move more fluid quickly.

5. Flexibility & Weight

If your hose needs to be moved frequently, flexibility and weight matter. Opt for lightweight options for handheld or mobile use.
